Locking arms with others in service to the truth that we belong to one another.
The mission of the Copy Room Conversations podcast and community is to coalesce a collective that serves educators with resources and inspiration. Our intention is to help teachers sustain their commitment to students they serve with a sense of integrity, purpose, and humor.
Through our we come to truly understand an undeniable fact: every one of us has something to learn from all those we encounter. Teachers are not omnipotent; we are simply and profoundly human, all of us with gifts to give and receive. We became teachers because we love: we love our subject, we love our students, we love our colleagues. It is easy to become overburdened by unrealistic and relentless expectations and political realities; by asking the question, “What can this teach us?” we remember that the love that will sustain us is the love of learning.
Whether here on this site, in our workshops, or on Facebook, and CRC Book Study, there are always new things to discover about our profession to enhance the way we think, learn, and, ultimately, teach. In work that can be so taxing to our personal, physical, and emotional reserves, the fact is that we need each other and, accordingly, a warm and informed sense of community is what The Teacher Collective aims to provide.
Wildflowers aims to support strong women and the people who love them to act with grace, purpose, and a healthy dose of badassery so we all have the courage to stand tall in our own truths.
How many of us are killing ourselves as we strive for perfection? (And whose definition of perfection is that, really?) How much better might we feel with the chance to really be honest about who we are and who we want to be? I am building a collective of Wildflowers to join me in my quest to abandon the desire for perfection and embrace, instead, the joy of our own truths. This path isn’t an easy one to walk, but, lucky for us, Grace is often achieved in life’s messiest of moments.
Among the “Wildflowers” you’ll find permission, encouragement, and opportunities to engage with other women seeking their truth, reaching for their starts, and living a life not performed or constructed but simply and profoundly their own. This community is built with he knowledge that, when we speak and live our truths, others feel liberated to do the same. This community is growing in the Wildflower Book Club and is often the focus of my work on Instagram. #Wearewildflowers
