Being a Wildflower means giving our attention and energy to our real priorities. With so much noise in the world, it’s difficult to stay clear about just what those priorities are, let alone allow ourselves to really focus on them. In fact if we’re being honest, we have to acknowledge that, sometimes, life is just plain hard. Now and again we all need a little inspiration. That’s what this page is about.

This month’s inspiration is a speech by First Lady Michelle Obama and her tribute to Dr. Maya Angelou. Mrs. Obama honors Dr. Angelou and the “affirming power of her words” that celebrated and honored women, especially black women, as no one had done before her. Dr. Angelou lived as she hoped others did, with “a call to all of us to embrace our God-given beauty.”

Last month’s inspiration was Inocente, a 15-year old girl who has grown into a Wildflower before her time. Her art and her spirit are a gift to us all.

Inocente is 15 years old and homeless. She also just launched her first art show.
